Stormers coach Allister Coetzee said his team's solid defence has allowed the players to take risks on attack which was a stand-out feature in their 37-13 win over the Hurricanes at Newlands on Saturday evening.
The Stormers' prowess on attack produced five-tries to crown what was their second successive bonus point victory after they flayed the Highlanders 33-0 at the same venue last week.
"With the Stormers' defence as solid as it is, the players have the liberty of taking more risks and run more with the ball," said Coetzee.
"We created more opportunities this week, and that resulted in us scoring five tries.
"The strength of this (Stormers) team is that they back the playing systems we (coaches) have put into place. Coetzee said his backs are coming along nicely and they are still a work in progress.
"The guys are enjoying themselves and they're a lot more composed. At the breakdowns, the guys have shown a lot more respect for the ball.
"On attack we did not just kick the ball away, and we were prepared to take the ball through the phases."
Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper said after his side conceded three tries the game was over as a contest.
"After three tries down we were pretty much playing catch-up rugby," said Cooper.
"We just have to regroup and pick our ourselves up."
The Stormers will host the Cheetahs in a Super 14 derby at Newlands next week.
