The Waratahs have won their last four Super Rugby matches against the Hurricanes so they should start the match with some confidence.

However the Waratahs have lost their last five Super Rugby matches against all opposition so they won't be overconfident.

The two teams haven't met since 2010 as they were the only Australian team the Hurricanes didn't play last year under the new conference format. Back in 2010, also in Sydney, the Waratahs won 32-16.

This season the Waratahs have played 13 matches and won four and lost six. That translates to the Waratahs winning 31 % of their matches this season. At home in Sydney against all teams they have played six and won 2 or 33% of their matches.

The Waratahs have played the Hurricanes 16 times and both teams have won eight matches each and there have been no draws.

The Waratahs do slightly edge the average points difference though as on average they score 25 points against the Hurricanes who score 23 points against the Waratahs.

The Waratahs have played the Hurricanes 8 times in Sydney and the Hurricanes have only beaten them twice. That means the Waratahs have won 75 % of their matches against the Hurricanes at home.

On average in Sydney the score is Waratahs 30 and the Hurricanes 21.

The Waratahs lost to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last week and had to fly from West to East which is usually the direction of travel the players struggle the most with.

The Hurricanes enjoyed their best result of the season last weekend and have named an unchanged team.

The Bookies have given the Hurricanes a 2 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. We are going against the Bookies on this one. We think the Hurricanes should edge it by 2.

This match will be shown on TV NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 1/HD.
