Rebels flanker Michael Lipman is said to have agreed terms with English Premiership Rugby club Newcastle Falcons.
The former Bath captain is understood to be finalising his contractual details to make his return to playing English Rugby after two years in Melbourne.
Lipman's time in English rugby came to an end when he, Andy Higgins and Alex Crockett were all banned for "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game"following an end-of-season party with Bath.
Ironically Newcastle Falcons have already signed Higgins and Crockett under new Director of Rugby Dean Richards.
According to Chronicle Live Lipman has already given Newcastle a clear indication of his intent to join up with the club.
The Australian born flanker won 10 caps for England between 2004 and 2008.
Lipman's move to Newcastle is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
